Part M handrails for safe access
Easily installed handrails which meet NDA recommendations
Install smooth Part M compliant handrails.
Meets and exceeds the relevant strength requirements.
Can be easily transported and erected as required.
Ensures safe access to hospitals and nursing homes.
Installing a safe means of access is of course imperative for all public buildings, but is even more important for hospitals and nursing homes. Having an appropriate ramp and rail system here will make a huge difference for people who may be compromised and need additional support.
What you can expect from us:
We quickly figured out which components went where, after that installation was plain sailing. All handrails joints were flush, which ensured that everything was according to the regulations. Many thanks

Handrails in hospitals and nursing homes can provide a couple of different functions. Firstly, they provide a secure handhold for those who need it. They allow people to move freely from one point to another. Usually this is just as a simple means of access, but often also to allow patients to go outside for some fresh air (or a cigarette).
Obviously, as it is a premises where people are cared for, they may not be just as stable on their feet and require this additional support. Handrails inside a hospital or nursing home can also serve to provide a “bump rail” for beds and trolleys, protecting the walls. They also work as a wayfinder for pedestrians navigating throughout the wards.
Entrances to care buildings often contain ramps and steps at entrance points, navigating differences in ground levels. It is here where our access handrails are most important. Mostly in the case of pedestrian access, our Part M handrail fittings would be used to provide a smooth handrail free of breaks or terminations.
This ensures that the user can run their hand right along the rail from beginning to end, while keeping their weight on the rail at all times. This helps them to maintain balance and gives them much more confidence, especially if they are in some way compromised.
Part M of the Building Regulations deals with the safe access to specific buildings, which includes having adequate measures such as handrails in place for people with disabilities. According to the below, hospitals and nursing homes would fall under this specification:
Technical Guidance Doc M ).6(d): An existing building or part of an existing building, which undergoes a material change of use to a day centre(i), hotel, hostel or guest building(ii), institutional building.
Part M handrails should follow the below criteria:
Although our steel handrails can be easily installed with basic DIY knowledge, public building rails are typically installed by construction workers, as they are generally larger projects. They also provide that expertise and attention to detail which ensure that the handrails are installed quickly and efficiently, while providing little disturbance.
Our fittings quickly secure the rails in place by tightening their grub screws with an allen key or hexagonal drill bit. They eliminate the need for welding and hot work permits and provide a very effective method for installing safety rails on access ramps and steps. We are constantly receiving repeat business from contractors and building companies who saw for themselves how simple it was to install handrails using our fittings.

We are asked to install a handrail as part of an extension project at our local nursing home. At first we weren't sure if it was something we could help with, but after giving the guys in Simplified Building a call, it suddenly seemed like a much easier task. We received a detailed sketch which showed where each fitting was located, and the job was completed much quicker than expected.
