Our Part-M handrail are galvanized inside and out — corrosion resistant even in harsh environments.
No special training or permits to worry about. No threading, no welding, no drilling. Only an allen wrench is required.
Inclusivity and having equal access to education are basic rights for all students, no matter their background or physical abilities. A way schools can ensure that they provide a safe and inclusive environment is through wheelchair accessible ramps and railings throughout the school.
Accessibility ramps and railings offer easier movement for students with disabilities or limited mobility, as well as offering a range of benefits for the entire school.
A while back, we were tasked with the configuration and installation of a NDA compliant railing system for a school.
The school was scheduled to undergo refurbishment during the summer holiday and, as part of this initiative, they needed to install a powder-coated handrail. The new rail would help disabled students access the buildings easily.
We scheduled an initial site survey to plan the installation, then delivered the goods and installed the powder-coated handrail. The installation was done in a day, which meant that there was no disruption and the school could have an accessibility handrail installed ready for the school start.
We also receive many inquiries for our Part M access rail, from all over Ireland. Part M is a part of the Building Regulations which focuses on safe access for people with disabilities.
It states that a rail should have no breaks or terminations along its course. This allows the user to comfortably slide their hand along the rail, from beginning to end. To allow this, we would construct the handrail using our Kee Access fittings.
Having accessibility ramps throughout the school will eliminate any physical barriers that students with mobility challenges may have when navigating the school independently.
All these systems in place bring about a greater sense of safety and security for a student when going about their day. Providing a safe and comfortable place for the day will make it easier for a student to focus on the main reason they’re at school which is their education.
We can now see that the benefits of having accessibility ramps and railings throughout the school are more than just a safe means of mobility.

Thanks for sending everything on so quick. Happy to have a compliant rail. Access will be so much easier for those less fortunate.

Our tube clamps make installing a handrail very simple. Each fitting contains one or more grub screws which are easily tightened using just an allen key, or hexagonal headed drill bit. The grub screw then closes in towards the tube as it is tightened, until it clamps the tube in place. This creates an extremely strong joint and is a fantastic way of installing a rail with the miniumum of fuss.
The alternative to our easy-install rail is to look for a more expensive welded solution. This may also involve waiting on hot work permits and can dramatically hold up a project, whereby a tube clamp handrail can be installed by just about anyone with basic DIY skills.
Our experts will help you select the items you need to complete the project.
