Loading Bay Railing For Goods Inwards

Providing an adequate safety barrier for loading docks for deliveries is crucial for all businesses, but particularly for busy areas with frequent deliveries.

For anyone working in goods inwards, being able to work quickly and efficiently while not having to sidestep potential hazards is a main priority. Many loading bays for trucks are sloped in to the building and so require a safety barrier up each side.

The safety barrier will not only protect workers from falls off the edges, but also work as a guide for the trucks reversing into the building. Paint your safety railing in order to make it stand out and easily visible.

Sloped Rail Fittings For Loading Bays

As many loading bays into buildings are sloped, angled fittings are required to keep the posts plumb but also to have the rails running at the pitch of the slope. Kee Klamp has an angled fittings range with many sloped fittings to provide such a barrier. There are sloped base Flanges, Tees and Crossovers which can pivot within the tube to accommodate the correct angle.

The Kee Klamp range also has swivel fittings which work on a hinge point. These are extremely flexible and can be used to work on angles where the exact pitch is unknown, as they can accommodate a wide range of angles.

Quick Installation of Loading Dock Railing

Installations of loading dock steel railing are made simple with Kee Klamp. Our Base Flanges can be attached to any solid structure and can be quickly bolted into concrete ramps or steel girders. A safety railing can then be easily erected with just an allen key, though it would be quicker to use a battery drill with a hexagonal headed bit to connect the fittings grub screws. The tube sections of railing can then be effortlessly slotted into place, without the need for specialised tools or labour.

Customisable Steel Barriers For Loading Bay Ramps

The above render shows how Kee Klamp steel barriers can be easily modified in a number of ways in order to facilitate various environments. Naturally, not all truck loading docks are the exact same. Tube clamps are extremely adaptable and can be configured to ensure that safety rails can be provided on ALL hazards. Close off around sudden drops, steps, moving machinery and around corners.

Steel Railing Vs Timber Rails

Because timber is so readily available, often people will look to cut corners and install a makeshift (that ends up becoming permanent) timber rail. But what happens if a forklift, or truck bumps into it? Timber fencing can be flimsy and break easily. It can also rot and weaken over time.

Galvanised steel rails will last much longer, with our fittings being hot dip galvanised to EN1461. They remain strong and are highly unlikely to get damaged. If part of the barrier is damaged, a section of the railing can be quickly and easily replaced by cutting the tube and slotting in a new piece. Fittings can also be loosened off and sections removed if required.
