Kee Klamp Football and GAA Posts
Did you know that Kee Klamp fittings can and have been used to construct football goals? Their strong and durable nature makes them ideal for manufacturing a goal frame.
Long-Lasting, Value for Money
This is the main difference between a Kee Klamp football frame and one which can be bought in the shops. Other goalposts are lighter and have a narrow, lightweight frame which will generally only last for one summer, or until they receive one or two good belts of a ball. Constructing your goal frame out of our fittings and durable tube will ensure that it lasts for years, meaning value for money.
Different strengths and sizes of frames can be constructed by using different lengths and thicknesses of tube.
Stronger Frame
A stronger frame may be required for goalkeepers who like to hang out of the bar when the ball goes over it, and who may have ‘wintered well’ as we say in these parts… If you have wintered well, it generally means that you may have dabbled in more than your fair share of Quality Street over the Christmas period. Or that you insisted on making yet another sandwich out of the remains of the ham, as it “Would be a shame to let it go to waste”… In this case, maybe a size 8 tube is required.
Over-enthusiasm
Perhaps a smaller football goals (8 by 4) is required for home or family use. A smaller size tube can be used, although obviously the thicker the tube, the stronger the frame will be. Some fathers can be over-enthusiastic when they have a ‘playful kick about’ with their kids. Their over the top behavior can include dangerous lunges, hand-offs to the face, and shots on goal that are so hard that Peter Schmeical (Paul, aged 6) has to dive for cover. No penalty shootout heroics from this stopper!

5-a-side "friendly"...
Another popular exercise is the weekly 5-a-side match between ‘friends’. I highlight the word 'friends' because the meaning of this word often changes as the game goes on, and tempers start to boil over. All it can take is one ‘borderline’ tackle without a follow up apology. The lack of the follow up apology is a recipe for paranoia starting to kick in. “Maybe Dave did that on purpose. Maybe he’s upset that I didn’t select him when we were picking teams. Maybe he wants to deliver a clear and quick message of disapproval by cutting me in two”. Of course, usually it is a simple accident due to the fact that Dave is a bit more ‘agricultural’ than the rest of us, and it takes him a few seconds longer to apply the brakes when he tries to stop.
Anyway, whatever the reason, usually it is this tackle that generates the niggle for the rest of the game. One thing can lead to another, and one can often find themselves having to let their 'friend' lean on their shoulder as they hobble off the playing area.

Easily Assembled/Disassembled
Whatever level you are playing at, Kee Klamp fittings are perfect for creating your goal frame. They are strong and durable, corrosion resistant, and can be easily assembled. An allen key is all that is needed to loosen the fitting and thus disassemble the frame, making it easy to transport around the garden or field, or to store away when not in use.
The above frame can be constructed using the following fittings:
- 2) 21-8 90° Side Outlet Tee
- 4) 19-8 Adjustable Side Outlet Tee
- 2) 15-8 90° Elbow
- Along with 18 metres of tube in total

*To construct a GAA goal frame, the same fittings can be used. It is simply a matter of extending the posts upwards through the 21-8 fittings, to a total height of 6 metres if required.
