Kee Klamp Tube-Man

We had a bit of fun here last week in Simplified Building with the arrival of Tube-man. Or 'Jeffrey', to give his official title.

The reason for his creation was to have somebody sit up in our trade counter window and greet any customers which might arrive. We certainly think that his presence will provide an eye-catching shop sign which will not go unnoticed.

Nothing like a warm welcome when you arrive at a premises, and Jeffrey is more than capable of being the man for the job.

Kee Klamp Fittings

It was a bit of fun putting him together, trying to figure out which method of connecting him would make him the most lifelike. The full Kee Klamp range features over 80 different fittings, so I wasn’t short on ways to create him. In the end I settled on the pictured design, which would have him holding up a sign whilst sitting down(seen as I haven’t yet figured out a way to get him to talk, the sign can act as his speech bubble).

Kee Lite Aluminium Fittings

To keep Jeffrey balanced, we created his signpost out of Kee Lite aluminium fittings. The aluminium fittings and tube are extremely light in weight and would prevent there being excess weight on one side, and also ensure that Jeffrey was easier to transport.

Speaking of which, Jeffrey has already ventured out on tour to impersonate a member of staff on his recent birthday, and proved to be quite a popular member of the party. We also should note his trip to Craggy Island to help Ted with his 'Passion of St Tibulas' protest.

He has been so popular in fact that we will possibly create a brother for him to sit on the wall outside our premises and direct people to our trade counter.

Any good name suggestions for him which would be related to steel or fittings would be much appreciated. Keep an eye out for him in the future…
