Extreme tag: "World Chase Tag" videos

World Chase Tag started as a group of friends having fun by playing tag around obstacles in their backyard and has since turned into an international competitive sport. It is a carefully crafted mix of the increasingly more popular parkour and the childhood game of tag.

How it works

Competitors take it in turn to chase and evade each other in a small area filled with obstacles and platforms similar to what you would see in your local parkour facility. World Chase Tag began with their first invitational event in 2017 and are now partnering with groups all over the world with the intention of them running their own local World Chase Tag competitions.

To enable you to understand this amazing new sport, we have arranged a list of videos showing the basics while showcasing some of the exciting aspects of the competitions.

From humble beginnings to the main stage

The following clip from AFP covers the basics of the competition and contains interviews with brothers who invented the sport.

You only have 20 Seconds

Witnessing adults run around in an enclosed arena while sliding under obstacles in an attempt to tag the other is actually pretty fun to watch.

You win some, you lose some

Not every round is easily won. But when you do manage to win 4 rounds in a row, it's definitely pretty satisfying.

Forming a team

Groups of parkour enthusiasts are now forming teams in order to compete in local competitions. They have even taken to making their own promo videos, like the one below.

YouTubers invited to try it out

A group of parkour YouTubers were invited to participate in the first official competition, and as YouTubers do, they vlogged their way to the event.

We're excited to see where World Chase Tag goes from here. Who knows, this could be the next America Ninja Warrior. Watch this space!
